The group name is perfect for this one - as the quartet features strong work from a tuba and cello, and no bass at all - which leaves both of those instruments to take over some of that role, especially the tuba! Tony Malaby is searing on tenor and soprano sax, and the set also features lots of full-on drumming from John Hollenbeck, who also plays some cool prepared piano as well - which leaves the tuba of Dan Peck and cello of Christopher Hoffman to find a very unique place in the middle.
